Blackwell’s design failure – NVIDIA screwed up!

Recently, we learned of a design problem with the Blackwell architecture. With this, of course, come consequences such as poor production performance. Anyway, during a visit to Denmark, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang took the floor to announce some good news.

Blackwell: no more poor production yields!

Broadly speaking, there was a problem with the design of the GPUs in question. Clearly, this problem was linked to the chip’s packaging technology, and everything seemed to point to TSMC’s CoWoS. Rumours quickly emerged that these problems had tarnished relations between the two companies. Beyond that, others indicated that there might even be launch delays.

During his visit, NVIDIA’s CEO made it clear that this design problem was entirely the Chameleon’s fault. In fact, he even praised TSMC’s ability to help Green recover from the situation and resume manufacturing quickly.

In other words, the company’s first pro cards are on their way to be shipped, and the company will be able to start fulfilling its orders. This would have been difficult with poor performance. Furthermore, Jensen Huang points out that Blackwell is supposed to be the company’s most “successful” product, underlining the confidence the CEO has in his new solutions!
